Air fryer puff pastry ham and cheese rolls

How to make ham and cheese rolls in the air fryer
- Mix all the dipping sauce ingredients in a bowl using a spoon or whisk. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper if needed.
- Unroll the puff pastry onto a large chopping board.
- Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the pastry, then scatter shredded ham on top.
- Fold both ends of the pastry inward, rolling each side toward the center. Position the two rolled sides so they sit on top of each other.
- Slice into equal bite-size pieces.
- Transfer the rolls to the air fryer tray, leaving space between them so they can expand.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Whisk the egg in a small bowl to create an egg wash.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash.
- Cook for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. If possible, turn them halfway through for even cooking.
- Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with the dipping sauce on the side.

- 1 puff pastry base
- 1 egg
- 2-3 slices of shredded ham
- 2 cups of grated cheese such as gruyére, emmental, or cheddar
For the dipping sauce
- 1.5 cups of greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup of tomato sauce or coulis
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic flakes
- 1 teaspoon of shallot flakes
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
Instructions
- For the dipping sauce, mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a large spoon or whisk.
- Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as necessary.
- Spread the first puff pastry crust dough on a large chopping board.
- Spread out the cheese all over the puff pastry, and shred some of the ham on top.
- Fold the two ends of the pastry, rolling towards the middle. Line the two rolls so that they sit top of each other.
- Cut the puff into rolls for equal bite-size pieces.
- Move each roll to the air fryer tray, leaving enough room for them to expand.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Crack open the egg into a bowl and mix it with a spoon to make an egg wash.
- Apply the egg wash to the top of the cheese rolls with a silicone baking brush (or teaspoon).
- Place the air fryer tray with the rolls in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes until golden brown. (If possible, turn the rolls at the halfway point so that they cook evenly.)
- Take out of the air fryer and let cool for 5 minutes or so.
- Transfer the sauce to a individual dipping sauce bowls, and serve alongside the cheese rolls.
