Calamari and chorizo pizza
A Spanish inspired pizza in a tomato sauce with seafood calamari and tangy chorizo sausage.

- 1 pizza crust base
- 1/4 lb of chorizo sausage (10-12 thinly sliced pieces)
- 10-12 fresh calamari rings (squid)
- 50 g of mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
For the tomato pizza sauce
- 3/4 cup of tomato sauce or coulis
- pinch of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- pinch of salt and pepper
Spread the pizza crust dough in a baking pan and lightly fold the corners to avoid sauce overflow.
In a mixing bowl, mix in the tomato sauce with the spices and herbs and blend well.
Chop the chorizo into thin slices and the mozzarella cheese into small pieces.
Coat the calamari lightly with the olive oil.
Preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C).
Spread some of the tomato sauce mixture onto the pizza base.
Spread chorizo and calamari across the pizza.
Place the pizza in the oven for 15 minutes until the dough rises halfway.
Remove from the oven, and add the mozzarella cheese.
Place the pizza back in the oven for 10 minutes or until it looks cooked.
Serve while warm.
