Ingredients
  

  • 1 can of San Marzano crushed tomatoes
  • 1-2 sprigs of fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of parsley for decoration (optional)
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, over medium heat and add cook the minced garlic in the olive oil for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes along with all the herbs and spices (except the basil).
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer for 5 minutes and then reduce heat and cook at low heat partially covered for 15 minutes.
  • Turn off stove and add in the chopped basil and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Decorate with optional parsley, and serve while warm.
