1 can of San Marzano crushed tomatoes 1-2 sprigs of fresh basil 2 tablespoons of olive oil 3 cloves of crushed garlic 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional) 1/2 teaspoon of parsley for decoration (optional) pinch of salt and pepper
In a saucepan, over medium heat and add cook the minced garlic in the olive oil for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in crushed tomatoes along with all the herbs and spices (except the basil).
Bring the sauce to a simmer for 5 minutes and then reduce heat and cook at low heat partially covered for 15 minutes.
Turn off stove and add in the chopped basil and let sit for 5 minutes.
Decorate with optional parsley, and serve while warm.
