If you love cooking meat, but don’t want to be anxiously watching over a stove, you are going to love this air fryer rump steak. Cooking rump steak in an air fryer may seem like an odd idea, but the air fryer has the benefit of giving you a perfectly prepared piece of meat just to your liking.

Depending on how cooked you like your rump steak, you can adjust the timings to get it down to a science:

  • Rare – cook for 15 minutes
  • Medium-rare – cook 17 minutes
  • Medium – cook 19 minutes

Just place the rump steak in the air fryer and its hot air ventilation do the rest. And in no time you will have a juicy, flavorful rump steak that will have your friends and family coming back for more.

  • Tramontina Gourmet 3 Piece Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl Set
  • Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Traverse Power Whisk

Ingredients
  

  • 1.1 lb 500 g rump steak
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • pinch of salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Rub the beef generously with the salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • Place in the fridge for 10 minutes to allow it to marinate.
  • When ready to cook, preheat the air fryer for 340°F (170°C).
  • Place the roast beef in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes*, turning it about every 5 minutes.
  • Remove the roast beef from the air fryer and cover the dish with tin foil or a lid to let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Move the rump steak to a serving plate and serve warm or cold.

Notes

Depending on how well done you like your rump steak, you can use the following cooking times:
  • Rare – cook for 15 minutes
  • Medium-rare – cook 17 minutes
  • Medium – cook 19 minutes
 

What to serve with it?

How to store it?

You can store portions of this air fryer rump steak easily, and leave it in the fridge.
Keep it in an air tight container so that it doesn’t lose moisture. When ready to eat, you can heat it in the microwave or oven.
