Depending on how cooked you like your rump steak, you can adjust the timings to get it down to a science:
- Rare – cook for 15 minutes
- Medium-rare – cook 17 minutes
- Medium – cook 19 minutes

Ingredients
- 1.1 lb 500 g rump steak
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- pinch of salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rub the beef generously with the salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Place in the fridge for 10 minutes to allow it to marinate.
- When ready to cook, preheat the air fryer for 340°F (170°C).
- Place the roast beef in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes*, turning it about every 5 minutes.
- Remove the roast beef from the air fryer and cover the dish with tin foil or a lid to let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Move the rump steak to a serving plate and serve warm or cold.
